I have found the conventions on the front cover of the below magazines, conventions of a magazine are things that are generally found in all magazines, this could be the masthead, which is the name of the magazine, the headline article is the article that is made to stand out on the magazine. The main image on the last magazine is a medium image which is not normally used, normally people would use a medium close up, such as the image seen on the first and second magazines as their front cover image. Also feature articles are used so we can see what stories are within the magazine.
•Masthead - This is the name of the magazine so you know which one you bought and are able to buy it again and find it quickly when the next edition come out.
•Plug - This is an offer draw people's attention towards the magazine, it could be something such as free posters or win an iPad.
•Price - This is so you know how much the magazine costs.
•Date - This is to let people know when the issue was released.
•Issue
number - To tell them which magazine this is and how many they have released previously.
•Headline - This is the main feature so people can tell what type of stories the magazine has.
•Subtitle - It is a smaller headline that may summarize the main feature
•Smaller
Features - These are over articles included in magazine so people know what some of the other stories are without having to open the magazine.
•Images - They are used to capture peoples attention.
•Offers/Adverts
(skyline/footer) – normally a banner at the top of the magazine featuring free
products or promotions.
•Barcode - used when the magazine is to be sold.
